So I discovered one of my all-time favorite dresses yesterday in the most unsuspecting store. I was at Sheer, looking for some opaque black nylons to wear with another dress when I saw this lovely shift dress. Normally I'm leary about trying clothes from new designers, as I'm so particular about texture and design. You could say I'm a loyal customer.. ;) The thing that made me try this dress is that I had only JUST been wishing for an assymetrical top. So when I saw this dress I wanted to give it a try and at $L200 it wasn't a huge risk. All I can say is WOW. The dress comes in 3 layers, and two versions of the dress. (Two straps or the assymetrical strap.) With each layer, the dress loses transparency. So if you want revealing (and I DO mean revealing), go for 1 layer. Somewhat revealing, but slightly opaque is at two layers. But if you're like me and you are rated PG (a joke with my friends), then you'll go for three layers. But I *will* say that with two layers, the transparency is tasteful. The texture on this dress is so well done, it looks like sheer organza layered nicely and gathered in the right places. The problem that I had, and it wasn't really a problem, was figuring out how I could wear stockings, while using all 3 layers of the dress on the bottom. If I used the stockings on the underwear layer, my waistband and stomach would glitch through. The solution was simple, I bought thigh-high stockings and wore them on the sock layer. Problem solved and when I sit, I look a little vampy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;) I'll probably be wearing this dress for a week. I'm wearing Nighttime gems in black from Shiny Things. Pretty expensive ($L600), but the gems are scripted so I can wear 11 different gemstone colors. And while I'm at it, I snapped this picture at the "Radiance" exhibit at Angel Gate.
