I'm 537. What's Your Number?

537 is the number of Second Life resident accounts with the last name Muggleston.  Nope, it doesn't take much to amuse me... the smallest shiny thing can amuse me for 30 minutes or more.  And so when I found www.slnamewatch.com on Dale Innis' blog roll, well there I go.    This site uses algorithms and bots and whatever else to report statistics on the Second Life last name database.  They claim to be the authority on the total number of resident accounts in Second Life.  (15,023,765 accounts found in search as of April 7th).  I had fun querying various last names.  It doesn't surprise me that there are so few Mugglestons.  I've only seen it once and that was early in my second life.  Compare it to GossipGirl at 160,098!  Heck, even Lexington (aka my friend Lizzie) has only been available since January of 2009, and has already been used by 2,275 resident accounts.  Sungsoo is another older name, only 1,087 people have chosen this name since December of 2006.  Bonetto, on the contrary has been chosen 23,211 times since mid-2007.    I chose my name because of it's lack of spelling ambiguity, that is, I knew I wouldn't forget how to spell it.  Ha!  Pretty clever, this site.  Lots of good statistics.  Check it out!
