Of Freakshows and Circuses... and Pornosophy?

As much as I love art, and get excited when I'm invited to previews of new installations (usually via NPIRL), I must say the most recent installation that was before me left me speechless. It's debut was April 6th, and because I knew it had a pornographic theme, I debated about going. I envisioned a fetish atmosphere with images of things I wouldn't imagine in my worst nightmares. Kinda like the time I walked around the Deviant shopping village and couldn't believe my eyes. Well anyway, I went yesterday. And it was just as I imagined, the images were very very graphic. But I don't know I can't really explain it, there was something also very provocative about them. Something artistic maybe? Loglady Loon has captured something in these images and I don't know if it's irony, or what, but I found myself looking at each of the images trying to understand what ironic message it was sending. Of course at first glance it's just plain porn. But I dunno, there's something beyond that that Loglady Loon has managed to evoke. The "sister" installation is called Freakshow, and it contains images of some freaky stuff. And yet again, provocative in some way. I would encourage you to check it out, if you dare. Be warned, it is very very adult in nature. I only tell you this: If you do choose to go, be prepared to spend some time looking at the pictures individually. If you can't do this, then there's no point in going really, at a glance it will just be a bunch of SL porn. And you can find that on Flickr.

This carnival, which I *think* is part of the Freakshow exhibit was rather fun. And these are pictures I can actually publish. :)
