By now you've probably heard or seen the amazing wonder that is the Grand Odalisque. It's the most unbelievably real sculpted human I think SL has ever seen. Not only that, but the artist is a mystery too. 3D Soup is the creator, and their profile says that the account is no longer used. Rumor has it that Light Waves could very well be the actual creator. It makes me wonder if our skin creators in SL have begun to experiment with photo-realistic texture. The Grand Odalisque is extraordinarily seemless. Looking at her closely, she has stretch marks, freckles and calluses on her elbows. Her hair could be improved though, but that's not the artist's focus, I guess. As my friend Yohann and I were studying her, we began to make general observations. For example, I think she's approximately 50 years of age. She has crows feet, and thin eyelids. (I'm kind of observant like that). I mentioned that I felt sorry for her, because she gets an audience while she tries to take a nap. But in all honesty, and Yohann says this is a very odd idea, I really feel like she's more of a science experiment on display. She's dead, preserved and we are at the Science and Industry Museum in Chicago looking at the wonders of preservation. I'm not normally so morbid, but napping people don't leave a crowd speechless and in awe. Napping people generally don't attract a crowd to begin with. If you have a chance to visit the Grand Odalisque (an odalisque is sort of a slave or chambermaid to the wives of a sultan), I would love to hear your perceptions of her. Enjoy!
I should mention these photos are not retouched.

Today I returned to get the slurl, and took another photo of the specimen girl and all her observers.
